Fresh From the Barn

Why New Pieces Land Here First

We’re always making something: a new design, a new product, or a one-off idea that turned out too good not to share. Rather than tuck new pieces into the middle of the shop, they get their own spot here, so regular customers can see what’s changed without hunting.

What Counts as New

Not every listing here is a brand-new product from scratch — sometimes it’s a familiar favourite in a new colour, a new size option, or a seasonal design on an existing item like a mug or cutting board. What they all have in common is that they weren’t available a few weeks ago, so if you’ve shopped Grey Barn Handwerk before, this is the fastest way to see what’s changed since your last visit.

Fresh Off the Bench

Some new arrivals are a fresh design on an old favourite, some are a new colour, and a few started as one customer’s idea. If something here makes you say “oh, that’s cute,” trust that instinct.

How Often New Pieces Show Up

There’s no fixed schedule. New pieces are added whenever a design is finished and ready, which can be every week in busy seasons like the run-up to Christmas, and a little slower the rest of the year. Fundraiser and wedding seasons often bring new ideas too, because so many of them start with what customers ask for.

Don’t see what you’re picturing yet? Start a custom order and it might be the next thing added.

From Idea to Shelf

Most new arrivals start the same way: a customer asks for something that doesn’t exist yet, we build it in the Barn, just north of St. Gregor, SK, and if it turns out well enough to offer beyond that one order, it gets added here. A custom wedding design might become a template other couples can request. A one-off engraved gift might turn into a new cutting board pattern. That’s part of why this list keeps growing — most of it started as somebody’s specific request.

Every piece here, new or not, is made the same way: laser-engraved, laser-cut or printed by hand in the Barn. Browse the full shop for everything else, or see our customer favourites for the pieces people keep coming back for.

Shipping and Local Pickup for New Arrivals

New Saskatchewan handcrafted products ship anywhere in Canada by Canada Post, or choose free pickup at the Barn if you’re in or around St. Gregor, and we’ll e-mail you when it’s ready. Everything is made to order, so ordering early is always a good idea before a big date.

Most new pieces can be personalized the same as everything else in the shop: names, dates, colours or your own artwork. If a new piece doesn’t show a personalization option yet, just ask. It usually means we haven’t added the option to that listing yet, not that it can’t be done.

Questions about a new piece, like sizing, personalization or timing? Send us a note and you’ll hear back from a real person, not a call centre.
