DIY Name Badge Kits — Crafting Joy Workshop at Watson Public Library

Handmade, whimsical, and ready to assemble. Our DIY name badge kits are heading to Watson Public Library this August for a free community crafting workshop — designed for kids, families, and anyone who likes making things with their hands.

We’re bringing our DIY name badge kits to Watson Public Library this August as part of our Crafting Joy Workshop series. It’s a free, hands-on event for kids, teens, families, and anyone who wants to sit down and make something fun. No experience needed. No artistic ability required. Just show up and craft.

Each kit is designed and laser-cut in our St. Gregor workshop, and every piece is ready to assemble on the spot. It’s the kind of project that works for a five-year-old and a fifty-year-old — and both will walk out with something they’re proud of.

What’s Inside the DIY Name Badge Kits

We’re prepping 20 kits for this event. Each DIY name badge kit comes with a laser-cut wooden base, a character topper of your choice, a writable space for name, grade, and teacher, a keyring and ribbon attachment, and glue dots, stickers, and embellishments to make it yours.

The character toppers are the best part. Choose from dogs, cows, bees, deer, frogs, unicorns, or rainbows — all designed by Lori and laser-cut on solid wood. They’re colourful, whimsical, and built to survive life on a backpack or lunch bag.

Who the DIY Name Badge Kits Are For

Everyone. That’s not a cop-out answer — it’s the truth. We’ve watched kids as young as four decorate their badges with total focus, and we’ve seen adults get just as absorbed in picking the perfect sticker placement. The kits are designed so the assembly is satisfying without being frustrating, and the result is something people actually want to keep.

They’re perfect for back-to-school prep — clip one to a backpack and your kid’s gear is marked with something they made themselves. They also make a thoughtful little gift for a teacher on the first day. Or just make one because crafting is fun and you deserve a Tuesday afternoon that isn’t about productivity.
