Grey Barn Handwerk FAQ – Your Handcrafted Saskatchewan Gifts Questions Answered

Here are the questions people ask most. If yours isn’t here, email us at he***@******rn.ca — we’re happy to help.

Ordering

Submit a custom order request with your idea — a photo, a sketch, a description, or a finished design file. We’ll create a digital mockup for you to review, revise if needed, and approve before we produce anything. For the full process, see How Custom Orders Work.

No. We work from professional files, phone photos, hand-drawn sketches, and descriptions like “I want my dog’s face on a mug.” All of those are valid starting points. We’ll handle the design work.

No minimums. We make single pieces and bulk orders with the same care and quality.

Usually 1–2 weeks from design approval to shipping. Rush orders may be possible depending on our workload — ask us. If you have a deadline (birthday, wedding, Christmas), tell us upfront and we’ll confirm whether we can meet it.

If we haven’t started production, yes. Email us at he***@******rn.ca as soon as possible. Once production has begun on a custom piece, changes may not be possible.

Shipping

We ship everywhere in Canada via Canada Post from our workshop in St. Gregor, Saskatchewan.

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and order size. We don’t offer free shipping — we keep product prices honest and charge shipping transparently.

Within Saskatchewan: typically 2–4 business days after your order ships. Rest of Canada: 5–10 business days. Add processing time on top — 3–5 business days for ready-made items, 1–2 weeks for custom orders.

Yes. You’ll receive a Canada Post tracking number via email when your order ships.

Yes. We’re in St. Gregor, Saskatchewan. Email he***@******rn.ca to arrange a pickup time. We don’t have regular shop hours (working studio, not retail space), but we’re flexible.

Absolutely. Include the recipient’s shipping address in your order. We can include a gift message if you’d like.

Returns and Exchanges

No. Custom orders are personalised with your design and can’t be resold. We mitigate this by sending you a mockup for approval before we produce anything — you see exactly what you’re getting before we make it.

Contact us within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in original condition. Email he***@******rn.ca to discuss.

Email us at he***@******rn.ca with photos of the damage and the packaging. We’ll work with you on a replacement or resolution — no complicated process, no runaround. For full details, see our Shipping and Returns page.

Products

Yes. Our sublimation-printed ceramic mugs are dishwasher-safe. Top rack is recommended for the longest print life. See our sublimation mug care guide for full details.

The tumblers are dishwasher-safe on the top rack, but hand washing is recommended to preserve the powder coat and personalised designs. See our tumbler care guide.

Sublimation prints won’t — the ink bonds into the fabric. Vinyl transfers can last indefinitely with proper care (wash inside out, cold water, low heat dry). See our apparel care guide.

Yes. Sublimation reproduces photographic detail beautifully. Send us the highest-resolution image you have. We’ll create a mockup for approval before printing.

We carry a range of adult sizes. Fit varies by brand and style. Contact us with your size requirements and we’ll confirm availability and recommend fit.

Possibly. If it fits our equipment and materials, we’ll give it a shot. If it doesn’t, we’ll tell you honestly. Submit your idea and we’ll figure it out.

About Grey Barn Handwerk

St. Gregor, Saskatchewan. Population 350. No traffic lights. One gas station. Our workshop is here, and every product is designed, made, and shipped from this location.

Grey Barn Handwerk is run by Loriann, with extra hands brought in when the workload demands it. But every order is overseen start to finish by the same person who answers your email, designs your mockup, and makes sure it leaves the workshop right.

Yes. Not “assembled here from imported parts.” Not “final packaging done locally.” Every product is designed, cut, sublimated, assembled, and packaged in our St. Gregor workshop — start to finish. See our Made in Saskatchewan page for the full story.

By appointment. E-mail he***@******rn.ca to arrange a visit or pickup. We also run occasional workshops where you can see how we make things and make something yourself.
